Probably best known for her bright interiors and dramatic line-figures, Patricia’s work is distinctive for its joyfulness. Imbued from childhood with a love and understanding of Southern ways, her vivid oils and watercolors offer an intuitive and often nostalgic view of old homeplaces, landscapes and seaviews. Patricia’s formal training began at a young age and has continued for over thirty years, including coursework at both Columbia and New York Universities and study with several of the Southeast’s well-known watercolorists.
Her work has been recognized for its translucent, ethereal effects, which she achieves with bold and skillful layering of colors. Her intuitive studies offer a unique and very personal insight into all of her subjects: an often heard remark about her art is that it makes you feel happy!
